I've had this scrub laying around for such a long time and I've been hesitant to open it as I have so many others open to use up... but I couldn't help myself. I haven't tried any Soap&Glory skin care before so I was quite surprised by how clinical the packaging looks compared to their moisturisers and bath products. I really like it though, sometimes I find the bright pink packaging a bit too much, this looks more sophisticated. The product itself contains really fine exfoliating beads and is a similar teal colour used for the text on the tube. It is quite comparable to The Body Shop Microdermabrasion Vitamin C scrub they sell which I love but I actually like this one better. I fine the more subtle smell much more appealing than the really orangey smell of TBS one. I like that it is slightly softer on the skin than TBS one too and I find it light enough to use everyday which really brightens and refreshes my skin. Also it's only £9 which makes me very happy!

Oh snap, I went and got me a proper bag... I'm the worst student ever haha, bye bye loan and thankyou government. I'm joking. I actually ordered this as a treat to myself when the summer ended for working so hard to save for uni but as I moved before it arrived home, I've only just opened the box today! Isn't he beautiful? I don't own any designer bags so this is quite a big deal for me and I have to say I am chuffed. The bag is amazing quality, every stitch is perfect, the leather is beautifully tanned and soft to the touch though the bag itself is quite stiff which makes me think it'll be really durable. I can't wait to start using this everyday though I am so scared I'll lose it or scratch it! Do you guys love Michael Kors as much as I now do? Guess I'll have to get myself a watch next...

Jenny x

Recently I have developed a love for boxy tees, I'm not really sure why but as you can see it got a bit out of hand on my last shopping trip... They fit me sooo nicely and have quite a sophisticated edge to them compared with a normal t shirt because of the more structured shape and thicker fabric. Topshop is the only place I seem to be able to find them but if you know of any other places that sell something similar let me know! The tartan print one was a little on the expensive side but you'd have to feel the fabric to understand- it is really heavy and thick. The other two were £18 and these are a bit lighter but still not jersey/cotton light. I wear these with simple black skinny jeans and boots for a casual but still put together look. What do you guys think of them?

Jenny x

I am a massive fan of Topshop beauty, it is all such good quality in my experience. In fact a friend of mine who works for Topshop even told me their makeup is made in the same factories as MAC... But anyway, I picked up these two products recently as I've been branching out with the lip products I use (usually a strictly lipstick girl) The Topshop Lip Cream in the colour Fox is my favourite out of the two products. It is very pigmented as you can see and has a nice gloss finish but not too shiny. It wears well and lasts a long time and also isn't sticky which is a big plus for me. The Gloss Ink in Sugar Rush is more on the sticky side but I love the subtle everyday pink colour so I let it slide. This is slightly less pigmented and is more glossy than the Lip Cream as you'd expect from the name. I love this product too and find myself using it more in the daytime whereas with the Cream I use it more at night. Both are lovely and very reasonably priced.

As some of you may know I went home for reading week which of course meant I had use of my oh so lovely bath! In my dorms at uni we only have showers (sigh) so I've been having some serious Lush bath bomb withdrawal hence this post! Now, there is no excuse as to why I only pictured this bomb when I did use two of my favourites (Twilight+Dragons Egg) during the week as well but never mind. Lord of Misrule is by far my favourite now and I really hope it isn't a Christmas limited edition because I'm not sure I could survive without it all year round. Its got a spicy herbal scent which isn't what I'd usually go for in a bath bomb but I've been converted. No more sweet sickly scents for me! If you haven't tried this already then I really recommend that you do, the way it dissolves is really impressive- I think it has something to do with the popping candy. It also leave a really cool shell which is what you can see in the second picture! What's your favourite Lush bath bomb?

I was doing a little shopping the other day (if you follow me on Instagram you will know that that 'little bit' was actually more like 'quite a lot') and I decided to pick up a Topshop Lip Cream for myself because I love me a little Topshop Beauty... don't we all? I also decided to pick up these two aswell so I could run a giveaway for you guys! The rules are as follows; you have to follow my blog on GFC and Bloglovin'. The rest of the entries are optional. The giveaway is open internationally and I will verify the entries using the rafflecopter widget. Good luck!!

1. Never seen anyone throw up before..? That will change.

2. Ridiculous health and safety precautions = queuing in the cold for parties.

3. People form clicks incredibly quickly during freshers so prepare to be more social than you've ever had or wanted to be.

4. Nine times out of ten you will not remain friends with these people you tried so hard to socialise with.

5. You will fall asleep during your lectures- I recommend sitting closer to the back of the hall.

6. If like me you don't fancy getting shit faced every night there are still lots of other cool events to go to.

7. You will be amazed at how fast your student loan disappears- remember you need to live on that money all term so don't waste it on alcohol.

8. Boys will lurk around in packs looking for suitable mates- don't be fooled by their semi-drunk cuteness because one ''amazing'' night with them won't be worth the stick you get from your friends.

9. Homesickness is a bitch.

10. Clubs and societies are expensive so set some money aside to join whatever takes you fancy.. Quidditch maybe!?

11. Your flatmates will be with you through thick and thin all year so make an effort to befriend them all- organize a games night or something along those lines to get to know each other.

12. You parents will call.. alot.. but you won't mind.

13. Don't bother organising a budget until after freshers because the first week will be filled with necessary purchases replacing things you accidently left at home.

13. Freshers flu is a bitch.

14. Not having your pets around will be really hard!

15. Decorate your room and make it homely because having some where nice to hide when you can't be bothered is a blessing.

16. The first day will be terrifying but remember everyone feels the same way.

17. The week will go by quickly and some will say it was the best of their lives.. if yours wasn't don't worry. You've obviously had a better run up to university than most!

Dark polish colours are by far my favourite, I think they compliment my pale pink toned skin really well and these three seem to be constantly on my nails at the moment. Rimmel 60 Seconds nail varnish has the best shaped brush ever- it has curved corners which makes it so easy to apply. But the best colour out of these three has to be Revlon 570 Vixen. It's so dark but still doesn't look black which I love! Barry M 273 Raspberry is more of a typical Autumn colour and I've had this one for years yet it remains one of my favourites. I did this post last year too which you can check out here if you want to see more of my favourite Autumn nail polish.

Jenny x

To be honest I'm not really sure why I needed to go shopping but it happened anyway so I thought I'd share some of what I got with you. I headed straight for Topshop hoping to pick up a nice jumper or two as it's starting to get a little chillier but instead left empty handed and disappointed. Unfortunately no real student can validate spending near on £50 on a jumper- that sort of money would last me two weeks in a supermarket! So instead I went to New Look and was pleasantly surprised at how on point their A/W collection is! I got the grey cropped jumper for £14.99 and the black midi cardigan for £19.99. The quality and look is exactly what you'd expect from Topshop itself but for a much more reasonable price. Also, just wanted to add- I will be hosting a GIVEAWAY really soon to celebrate reaching 2000 readers!! It will be a MAC one as per usual so keep a look out for that!

Jenny x

Some of you may know, from the few times I've mentioned how much I don't want to go/am terrified, that I am now at university. Well let me tell you, it's been a kind of stressful first week due to difficulties with accommodation (shared room-sigh) and lack of money (typical) so I thought I'd share with you how I've been keeping calm. I found these herbal tea's in Morrisons during that first huge shop everyone goes on with their parents before you are left to fend for yourself. They were really inexpensive which is obviously a plus for students but what really matters is how good they taste. I definitely recommend herbal tea if you need to chill. My favorite is the Touch of Jasmine Green Tea and there are lots of other flavours I plan on trying once I get through these and to be honest I doubt that'll take me long...

Embarrasing picture for you all to enjoy, I'm on the right.

1. Cutting your own fringe is a bad idea...

2. The boys you think you're in love with will disappear from all aspects of your life so don't be disheartened when they act like dicks.

3. Enjoy school because when it ends, life gets stressful.

4. Don't dye your hair black, it will take years to get back to a colour that doesn't make you look like you're on your deathbed.

5. Red patent court shoes that cost you £15.99 from New Look are not cool.

6. Savour having no responsibilities other than keeping your Tamagotchi alive.

7. Don't bother with false nails because you won't be able to do anything practical with them on and will end up looking like an idiot.

8. LESS IS MORE. Use this motto in regards to most aspects of life ie.. makeup and alcohol.

9. Impulse is not a substitute for perfume.

10. Remember, while dealing with the dramas of secondary school life (of which there will be many) that none of it will matter to you in five years.

If you haven't heard of Washi tape then this post will change your life! I searched and searched online and in stores for a pretty academic planner for this September coming, thinking along the lines of; if it's cute I will be more likely to actually use it, but couldn't find one anywhere. Instead I ended up with a boring cheapy from WH Smiths which wasn't exactly inspiring to say the least. Then I found out about Washi tape (am I late to this craze?) in the Design Boggers at Home book I've been reading and ordered a bunch from eBay. It's really inexpensive and can be used to decorate anything. The tape looks better on a white background which is why in the second picture you can see I started with a layer or masking tape on the black diary. Then I went a bit crazy and covered every plain notebook I own but I'm so happy with the results! You could really cover anything in Washi tape- phone covers, little boxes for jewelry, wall panels, picture frames and so on! I am addicted to the stuff and recommend (if you haven't already) getting some.

Welcome to my Topshop mini-haul (yay) I picked up this really pretty dainty necklace today for only £6.50 which I guess is a little expensive.. but I fell in love. Plus I literally can't remember the last time I bought any jewelry, it doesn't tend to be what appeals to me when wandering round shops.  I also picked up this stripey top because, well... I don't know, it looked cute and I needed to perk myself because I'm depressed about moving out and going to uni! Anyway, it looks really nice on and I also have the same top in black which is equally as nice and flattering!

Jenny x

Back again with more book stuff, sorry if this isn't your cup of tea but I've had a sort of epiphany about my blog... I'm sure many of you have suffered from writer's block too at some point in your life be that with your blog or even school work. Well I was having difficulty for a while, not really enjoy myself when blogging because of it. I felt like I was forcing myself to write about fashion or beauty when really there was something else I wanted to share. So now I guess this blog is going to be a bit of a mish mash of ideas to do with whatever I feel like writing about on the day. It will hopefully then show more of my personality which maybe you will like?

I've fallen in love. Any creative person can (I'm sure) understand the attraction to a beautiful house and this book is full of them. Not only that, the wonderful people who own these houses also write blogs about their own passion for home decor so really what more could you want. I've been so inspired by their imaginative use of colour (enough so that I spent way too much money on an order solely of cushions last night...) and their quirky DIY ideas which I can't wait to try out when I have my own place! I found out about this book when Zoella mentioned it in a haul and I am so thankful for clicking onto that video because this find has re-ignited a love for colour that at the moment my room at home is lacking. Don't worry though, it will be changing very soon!

Jenny x

Over the summer I've had a lot more free time to read which makes me very happy. It's like a break from reality/life which occasionally is needed especially when you're stressed. I've been working myself up over going to university in September but thats a whole other post... Anyway, Celia Rees is who I wanted to shower in light and praise today because she is an amazing author. I recommend these four books (Pirates! Sovay, Witch Child and Sorceress) to anyone of any age if you like a gripping story about strong women. Her protagonists are always so empowering which I love and the stories are all so individual. I found myself becoming seriously emotionally involved with each book and each character's life that on one hand I hated the books ending, yet on the other hand I could not live without knowing what happened in the end. Next on my list to read by Rees is The Fool's Girl.

Jenny x

As some of you may know, I'm off to university in September. Though part of me is severely freaking out at that fact I am happy to say I've been keeping myself sane by spending what some may consider a little too much money on homeware... My thought process goes something along the lines of; the more cute stuff I have the more homely and cosy my room will feel therefore making me far more happy and a lot less homesick! Anyway, I filmed a haul and posted it on my youtube channel which you can watch HERE if you're interested.

As I haven't posted something beauty related in a while (haha) I thought I'd share with you some recent additions to my lipstick/lip product collection! Firstly I picked up a MAC Lip Pencil in the colour Redd because I am sick to death of the Rimmel one I use with my red lipsticks, it's just so hard. I love this classic fire engine red colour, I think it works really well with my super pale skin. Next I picked up a NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the colour Pop Life which is very exciting for me because this is the first and only NARS products in my collection! I love it to bits but think it is very comparable to the Revlon Matte Balm in the colour Striking which is a lot cheaper. Lastly I got a matte MAC Lipstick in the colour Kinda Sexy because recently Debenhams had a sale on all lipsticks (heaven) so I had to really...

1. The walk from your drop off point to where you actually camp will be the longest of your life.

2. Rucksacks are a good idea.

3. Lets be honest, it will rain and theres no escaping it so listen to your mum when she suggests you pack a mac.

4. No amount of dry shampoo will be able to help your situation by day four.

5. The likelihood of getting to the front of the crowd from your favourite band is slim to impossible unless you are inhumanly patient and can deal with the pressure of 1000's of people pushing against your back.

6. EVERYONE LOOKS SHIT though that still won't make you feel any better about it.

7. The first shower you have when you get home will feel like a gift from God.

8. You will regret not taking toilet paper.

9. Don't get close to a mosh pit/wall of death/any other violent phenomena in the crowd because you will die.

10. No one dresses/acts like they do for Coachella here so don't bother with valuable clothes because they will be ruined.

11. Your tent will never look the same again.

12. The state of the toilets by day five will scar you for life.

13. People will steal your camping chairs and you will probably steal theirs.

14. Everything is ridiculously expensive so a trip to TESCO before you arrive is a good idea even if it does mean more to carry on that ridiculously long walk.

15. Someone will probably offer you drugs.

16. Finding your tent amidst a sea of tents isn't fun. You will resent the people intelligent enough to bring a flag.

17. No man or woman will find you attractive by day five, you will look like a beast.

18. Your toothbrush and disposable camera will become your most precious possessions.

19. Despite being dirty you will wish it lasted longer and want to go back for round two.

Hope you guys enjoyed this slightly different post to usual, it is meant to be lighthearted and a bit of a joke but there are some real gems of advice in there too...!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

August 2nd was my 19th birthday! I didn't do anything crazy, the Wednesday before some of my friends and I went to Pizza Express and then had cocktails in the old town; part of my home town full of old English-y pubs, bars, restaurants, art galleries and independent shops. Think 'the lanes - Brighton' but on a much smaller scale and with a few fishermen thrown in. I've also got a spa day planned with my friend Silvana which I am really looking forward to!

Milani Baked Blush | 05 Luminoso
I received this blush from my friend Sammie. Being a lover of YouTube beauty gurus I have of course seen and therefore lusted after the Milani blushes. Sammie recently visited Florida for a two week holiday which I am very jealous of, you can see her vlogs here. She picked this blush up for me there. I love it, the texture is really creamy and the pigmentation is beautiful!

Soap & Glory Matte Lipstick | Blush Pink
My friend Connie got me this lipstick which was a lovely surprise! I've never tried a Soap & Glory lipstick before but I'm definitely going to check them out next time I'm in boots because the texture is lovely and smooth. Even though it's matte it doesn't dry out your lips which is great because I prefer matte finishes by far but usually hate the state my lips are left in.

Benefit Box Blush | Dandelion
My sister got me this blush and you may remember from my Spring makeup wishlist that I have been wanting this for ages. However as we all know they are a bit pricey so I hadn't committed to buying. I don't own a baby pink blush like this and so am really happy with it and I think it'll be perfect for an everyday natural makeup look!

MAC Lipstick | Please Me
Lastly from my best friend Silvana who also has a blog called The Silver Doll I got this MAC lipstick. We have a tradition to get each other something MAC for our birthdays which is great because we always love what we get! This is a matte textured 'muted-rosy-tinted pink' which I think looks more Barbie pink when swatched

I am very thankful for everything I got this birthday, I decided not to do a full haul because most of what I got isn't really relevant to my blog and you may not have found it interesting! Hope you liked this post and the swatches,

As some of you may know I recently spent some time in Barcelona so I thought I'd share some pictures I took and chat about the experience as it may be interesting to anyone thinking about going there. If you're clever and reasonably flexible flights to Barcelona are really cheap, as in under £80 for a return which is great, just try to avoid August. Accommodation isn't as great but the further out of the city you stay the cheaper. We were quite lucky and had a lot to see in walking distance and were near a metro station which we used to get to the Old Town and beach. Barcelona beach is actually man made, not that you really care while laying in the sun! As you may know I'm really pale and can't tan at all so I spent my time slapping on the factor 50 between swimming in the sea. The jellyfish warnings did freak me out a bit so be wary!

As for sightseeing Barcelona is very spaced out so you have to metro or spend a lot of time walking (which we did) to get from place to place. I definitely recommend getting a metro pass if you're there for more than 5 days because it makes life so much easier and will save you money! We visited the Old Town and the Cathedral which are must see's, the old part of the city is very beautiful. We also trecked to the Sagrada Familia which was incredible! These were my favourite parts, I like architecture and Barcelona has such an interesting mixture which was cool. The food was also really good and you can make it as expensive as you want it to be, we ate out each evening then stuck to cheaper fast food options for lunch. Tapas is obviously something you need to give a go while there, I think it's great especially if there's a big group of you.

We also visited Barcelona Zoo which I think is safe to say, far better than London Zoo. The variety of animals is vast and they also had dolphins which I thought was really cool though we didn't actually get to see any! The entry wasn't expensive either so if you're interested in that sort of thing its worth going.

We spent a lot of time getting lost and I expect you will too if you go, it's not a bad thing though, you end up finding really cool things which are less touristy. We did successfully manage to find the Font Magica which a lovely guy on a bus from the airport told us about. You have to visit it if you ever go to Barcelona, there is a huge night time show with opera music playing and the fountain changing shape and colour (terrible description, I videoed some in my vlog if you want to see what I mean) and it's amazing, the atmosphere is incredible. You can look up the times of shows depending on when you go. Also the views from up by the Palau Nacional which the fountain is in front of are amazing and best of all there are escalators that take you to the top (thank god).

I vlogged the trip too if you're interesting in seeing more than just pictures. It's not a chatty vlog which I think is better in this instant as it's more about the city's beauty and what we did while there! Barcelona is a great city and one I definitely want to revisit as there is so much to see and it can be a great budget holiday too if you want it to be. Websites like Travel Supermarket compare great city break deals to Barcelona for around £170 depending on the time of year and that includes flight and hotels as a minimum so you should definitely check that out. Hope you liked this post and found it helpful!

OOTD to OTTN | Virgin Holidays Competition

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been on holiday in Barcelona!! There will be a blog post about my trip coming up soon. Today I wanted to share with you an outfit of the day to outfit of the night I've put together for a competition that actually ends really soon (I forgot about it.. silly me) Anyway, hope you like the look. I wanted it to be simple but classy and suitable for hot weather!

Playsuit | Bag | Sandals | Heels
I went for white because it's so summery and also easy to match with anything. Plus anyone with a tan- white will really make it stand out and look extra golden! I fell in love with the mint clutch but unfortunately it has sold out, however I'm sure there are lots of similar ones out there to choose from. The shoes are what changes it from simi-casual to night outfit. Both sandals suitable for the heat and both very simple, letting the playsuit stand out.

I'd really appreciate it if you'd vote for my outfit!

iHerb Skincare Haul | Oily/Acne Prone Skin + EcoTools

iHerb is fast becoming one of my favourite websites to shop on.. everything is so inexpensive! You can get all sorts of brands at a discounted price including Real Techniques and EcoTools which I'm sure the brush lovers amongst us will appreciate! Anyway, you should definitely check out the website if you havent already. Plus you get $10 off your first order which is always nice and there are also loads of other coupons floating around the internet which you can use too. I recently put in an order so I thought I'd share with you what I bought.

My Nivea daily essentials refreshing toner has just run out and as I'd been using it for what felt like a long time I thought I'd switch it up. I've never heard of this brand before (guessing it is American?) however it has amazing reviews and I was interested to see if the witch hazel which hasn't been distilled (retains beneficial natural tannins) works better at tightening and reducing the look of pores than other witch hazel products.

£3.94 | £4.69
These next two items are both for people with breakout prone skin like me.. sigh. I'm hoping these will help clear up the last bit of bad skin I have left around my chin. The acne treatment gel contains none of the usual ingredients such as salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Instead it is all natural and claims to 'create and maintain clear skin naturally' which sounds great. I would be sceptical if it weren't for the amazing reviews. Again with the deep clean astringent the reviews are amazing though this one contains 2% salicylic acid.

I bought this product on a bit of a whim. I saw Kathleen Lights (YouTube beauty guru) haul it a while ago and it caught my attention. After reading a few reviews I decided to give it a go as there are claims it is a bit of a miracle worker for people with oily/acne prone skin. I'll do a review once I've used it a couple of times to see if it works but for £3.50 I wont be complaining if it isn't as great as it is made out to be.

Literally can't understand how inexpensive this is and the reviews are incredible.. 4.5/5stars and thats with 2857 people leaving feedback on the iherb website. It claims to dry up acne, rinse away blackheads and shrink enlarged pores as well as relax tired muscles and ease tension lines on your face and neck! Read the positive reviews here and I reckon you'll end up purchasing this mask too!

I'm not sure how much this brush retails for but at that price you can't go wrong! I'm a sucker for buffing brushes as they tend to be my favorite and most used and even though I have way too many already I decided to get this one. I use them to apply my foundation as I find the dense bristles give the most flawless finish.

Hope you guys like this haul, it is definitely going to be more interesting for people with oily skin as that is what most of the products are made for so sorry for anyone else! What products do you love getting from iherb that you think I should try?

My MAC Eye Shadow Palette | Blues & Greys

This is the last of a series of posts showing you my MAC eyeshadow collection. I have blue eyes so for me that means wearing blue eyeshadow is a rarity however I love how it looks when paired with greys and blacks. It acts as a pop of colour but is still cool toned enough to blend well with a classic smokey eye.

Typographic | Plumage | Silver Ring | Tilt

I think the combination of these four colours are perfect for a dramatic eyeshadow look. However you might be wondering, where is my Carbon, MACs classic matte black eyeshadow? I decided to give it a pass after reading many reviews that describe it as unblendable and not very pigmented. Instead I chose to go with Typographic, a really dark matte grey. If I ever do need a black I have the shade Crave from my Naked Basics palette which is incredibly pigmented!

These are all swatched without primer so you can get an idea of how pigmented they are. Unfortunately Typographic and Plumage look very similar in these pictures though in real life Plumage is a lot more vibrant and rich and is actually my favourite colour from this palette. I like to use it along my lash line for a colorful eyeliner look.

I haven't really shared with you my plans for this summer but there are a few trips on my agenda, one of them being last weekend in Amsterdam! I took a few pictures and made a video which turned out pretty cool, if I do say so myself so I thought I'd share them with you along with a bit about what I did there! Amsterdam is actually a beautiful city, luckily they escaped much bombing in the war so all the original old buildings lining the canals are still standing. During the first day we visited the red light district which I didn't get any pictures of. Funnily enough it is one of the city's most beautiful parts though some of the buildings have glass shop fronts filled with girls! My friends and I are lucky enough to have visited during the world cup and Holland won a match while we were there and the atmosphere was incredible! Everyone was wearing orange, we stuck out like sore thumbs even more that we usually would, being four 5'4" blonde teenage girls in the middle of a huge city! I hope you guys liked how I edited the video, I confess it is completely Lily Melrose inspired. I find her vlogs so much more interesting than the usual walking and talking.
